Are you looking for new ways to expand your flow? Learn techniques for fusing Dance with your Object manipulation from Tyfoods! Regardless of your prop of choice, the prop dance choreography workshop will get you up and exploring prop dance in a whole new way.

Additionally, “Connecting the poi dots” will help you figure out how to best enter advanced poi techniques like tangles, tosses and contact, and deepen your understanding of how they’re all connected!

The workshops will be taught in this order:
7:45pm – 8:45pm Prop Dance Choreography
8:45pm – 9:45pm Connecting the poi dots: Tangles, Inversions, Contact, Tosses and more.

Please leave free time in case workshops run a bit longer than expected.

Suggested Donation:
$10 – 15 for one workshop
$25 – 35 for two workshops

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:

Prop Dance Fusion Choreography – Tyfoods and Jules Dandelion have prepared a short choreographed performance that has room to utilize any prop (Staff, hoop, poi..). The workshop aims to inspire prop dance fusion ideas and show what is possible through combining dance & prop art. ANY PROP ALLOWED! This is an ALL PROP Workshop!

Connecting the poi dots: Tangles, Inversions, Contact, Tosses and more. – In “Connecting the poi dots” Tyfoods walks you through advanced poi moves and concepts and demonstrates how they are done and how they are all related to eachother. The goal is to be able to transition from one move, into virtually anymore other. The goal is freedom of movement.

*****What is FlowShop?
The purpose of FlowShop is to create an affordable and accessible space for flow artists of all skill levels to try out new toys, skill share with others, and explore different dance styles.

*****What should I expect at FlowShop?
Friendly faces and wide open spaces. FlowShops are BYOprop,
but post to the event page if you need to borrow a prop and we can help you out!

All proceeds for FlowShop go right back into our community. We use a sliding scale in order to keep classes affordable while still ensuring that our instructors are fairly compensated for their time, skill and effort. If you can afford to pay a little more, please do! This allows us to continue to support our instructors and bring high quality programming to FlowShop!
